Private Courses
AIEME began providing ACLS, BLS and PALS courses to the medical community in 1995. Many of our participants include the following:
- Private practice physicians with their nursing/paramedical staff
- Groups from the same employer and department
- Groups of medical or legal professionals who wish to attend as a private group
AIEME enjoys working with these specialized groups and we are happy to set up a “private” courses that are inclusive of only those group members. A minimum of $650 is need to come onsite and the dates / times are totally at the discretion of the group requesting the course.
Street and Prescription Drug Abuse – Recognition, Treatment and Prescribing Practices
Dr. Sharon Kelley, CEO of AIEME, specializes in providing corporate education, both onsite and online, to private physicians and other prescribing professionals, medical schools, law schools, corporations and hospitals in how to recognize substance abuse in patients, clients and employees. This training may provide a significant risk reduction in medical malpratice, as well as criminal and civil liability on the practitioner and corporation’s behalf. This training can also be adapted to those needing continuing education units as part of the license.
Emergency Consultations for Offices and Surgery Centers
In an effort to provide the highest quality of patient care, AIEME has developed a standardized course that will enhance the ability of the private office, or surgical facility, to respond appropriately to the unexpected medical emergency. The following services will be included:
- The facility’s code cart(s) will be reviewed to insure compliancy with JCAHO / AHCA standards for the specific facility. Guidance will be provided for the acquisition and maintenance of necessary equipment.
- Our consultants will stage “mock code” scenario created specifically with your patient population in mind. During this time, staff response and equipment will be evaluated for proficiency and potential quality improvement.
- A specialized resuscitation flow sheet, designed by AIEME, will be utilized during these practice sessions and will be left with the office. A regular schedule of “skill” maintenance sessions has been scheduled by many of our participating offices and is utilized to satisfy their annual risk management resuscitation requirements.
- A report will be provided to the site coordinator which describes any deficiency and proficiency observed during the “mock code.” This can be used for risk mitigation requirements.
Corporate & Professional Liability Training – Recognition of Substance Abuse
These sessions include specific training in the recognition of drug abusing patients and staff members. For the physician, recognition skills will be introduced that will not only help to identify abuse but identification of physical signs and symptoms specific to certain drugs. This can prevent serious complications during treatment and therefore reduce medical malpractice events.
For the corporate leader, recognition of substance abuse can prevent serious financial losses incurred by high level staff members’ failing job performance, accidents and injuries induced by impaired employees and safety hazards to fellow workers all of which represent liability to the corporation.
